Benefiting Micah Ministry and Welcome Refugee Corp
About Welcome Corp
Our offering will allow Peace Church members to help refugees through the Department of State’s Welcome Corp. The Welcome Corp matches refugees to sponsor groups who can help new refugees secure housing, assist with children’s enrollment, provide support in acclimating to the US, and help adults find employment. The sponsor group must fundraise $2,375 per sponsored refugee, which can be a combination of funds and donated goods or housing. Your donation will allow us to help the US accept more refugees at this time of turmoil in the world.
About Micah Ministry
Micah Ministry is centered around a ministry of home-cooked meals in which faith-based and civic volunteers partner and seek to help our food vulnerable neighbors. From 5:30pm - 7:00pm every Monday, Micah offers a hot “to-go” meal, hygiene products, clothing, additional food items, a free medical clinic from Care Beyond the Boulevard, and items to support our house-less neighbors such as blankets, sleeping bags, and tents.
To illustrate what your donated dollars in the Christmas offering will buy, here is the Wish List for Micah Ministry:

$25 - 2 pairs of men's jeans or 30 rolls of toilet paper
$30 - Men's Sherpa-Lined Hooded Coat
$50 - 2 sleeping bags
$75 - 48 pairs of gloves
$100 - 4 Two person tents
Help within the Peace Family
We know of some individuals/families really stretched right now with challenges… getting kids back to school, dealing with sick family/work stress. If you have some extra space in your heart or on your kitchen counter to offer a meal or help with errands, please let us know.
And/or if you need a little tender care at this time (help with a meal or errands), please let Pastor Holly or Pastor Paula know. We are family that care and support each other in whatever manner we can.
