Meet Our Board of Trustees

President

Julie grew up in the Midwest and has been married to Bob for over 30 years. She and Bob have two grown children, Tom and Emma.

She loves walking their dogs, volunteering, reading, and traveling. Julie is the Financial Administrator for the Olathe Libraries and runs the Friends of the Library bookstore inside the Olathe Indian Creek Library.

She has a degree in Accounting from Murray State University and an MBA in Finance and Human Resources from Indiana University. Julie and Bob love being members of Peace Church.

Secretary

Patty was born in Colorado and also lived in Michigan and Kansas while growing up. Her family came to the Kansas City area when she was a sophomore in high school.

She graduated from Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in recreation. Before retirement she worked in outdoor education before ending her working career as a contract analyst in the insurance industry.

Patty grew up in the Presbyterian church before finding Peace CC.

She and her husband, Fred, are founding members of Peace church

Patty and Fred enjoy traveling and playing lots of golf.

Treasurer

Anita grew up in Kansas City North. She received her teaching degree at the University of Central Missouri, her masters degree in Elementary School Administration came from the University of Kansas.

She and her husband Joe have traveled a lot during their 53 years of marriage. Anita enjoys volunteering at her granddaughters’ school which is within walking distance and does a Senior Circuit class at the Y in Philly. Exploring the botanical gardens, art museums, historical sites, unique neighborhoods, and nearby small towns keeps her active.

Anita and Joe are charter members at Peace. Joe has previously been on the board and Anita has worked on the Mission Committee. They found Peace to be immediately welcoming. Further, the opportunities to volunteer and donate to those in need in our metropolitan area gave them the church they were looking for to sustain a spiritual life.

Brian Harris grew up on a farm near Haven, KS. He holds two degrees from Emporia State University and graduate certification from the University of Kansas. He spent over 40 years in Kansas public education as a superintendent of schools, high school principal, elementary principal, school counselor, and middle school teacher. After retirement he served as an interim superintendent of schools in two Kansas school districts.

Brian has been married to Robin for over 52 years as of December, 2025 and they live in Leawood. They have three grown children, four grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. Brian and Robin love to travel to not only see their family but also various other places in the United States and abroad. For almost ten years Brian has volunteered with the Johnson County Meals on Wheels and delivers meals once per week.

Brian and Robin came to Peace UCC about 10 years ago. Brian grew up in UCC and Congregational churches and they feel Peace is a special place for them.

Shelia Holt was raised in Harrisonville, MO.  She received her teaching degree from Southwest Baptist University. She is a retired high school speech & debate teacher and coach.

She and her wife, Nedra, found Peace Church about 12 years ago, after an extensive search. They credit their involvement in the Peace community for deepening their relationship. After attending a fundamentalist church throughout her early life, she appreciates that Peace Church has transformed her understanding of what a loving and justice-seeking church can be.
