Discussion about Dietrich Bonhoeffer & On Tyranny

Join us for a discussion on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German minister who organized a resistance to Hitler. We'll also give an overview on the graphic edition book On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder, a historian and Yale professor. The graphic book concisely reviews actions citizens have taken to resist tyranny in the 20th century.

We would like to discuss how Dietrich Bonhoeffer and On Tyranny is relevant today, offering lessons from history on how to resist tyranny.

All are welcome whether you have read the books or not.

We will be reading Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. It is the story of a mischievious young boy who grows into a restless young man who struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of his relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother who was determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse.
