Sharing the God Within

I watched a video where a scientist explained how the atoms in our bodies come from stars.  That means we literally come from the heavens.  The stars and the heavens are in us. God is in us.  “You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you,” Jesus tells his disciples.     

Lord knows we need more God right now—and maybe each of us has the superpower to bring a little more God into the world.  We just need to tap more deeply into the God within us and do something more—for a friend, for a family member, for our community…what the heck, we can even do more for strangers.  We are all part of this big, beautiful planet, in this wild, expansive universe, and while lots of things feel out of control right now, we have in our power to bring some light to the darkness simply by being more for one another and by doing more for one another.   

With God dwelling within each of us, so much that whirls within our minds is not important by comparison—our jobs, our possessions, our plans for the next weekend…Really, we are how we treat each other and nothing more. The song we sing on Sundays is right.
